Okoli Hails Soludo’s wife health initiative says her leadership style is unprecedented.

…As Anambra Youth and Women vow to drive it to the grassroots.

The President General, Anambra State Association of Town Unions (Youth Wing) Comrd Ken Okoli has applauded the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo.

Okoli stated this at the one-day seminar, held at the ASATU Secretariat, Old Government House, Awka, that brought together lady organisers and women to mark the official inauguration of the Healthy Living Advocates.

Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo is a Social Health crusade founded by Anambra State Governor’s wife, Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo to reestablish a health conscious mindset and promote the philosophy of right health in families, schools and communities in Anambra State and beyond.

The President General ASATU Youth during the programme appreciated Dr. Mrs Nonye Soludo, wife of Mr. Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, CFR, on her proactive measure in introducing a programme that will bring values to a healthy living lifestyle to Ndi Anambra.

Okoli also thank Mr. Governor for his leadership style which he said is unprecedented. He said Ndi have never seen this type in the history of Anambra State.

Okoli disclosed that, there are two measure values in life, which is a healthy life and good leadership and Ndi Anambra have the two running to their destination hub.

In a renewed drive to strengthen grassroots health advocacy, the Youth Wing and the Women of the Anambra State Association of Town Unions (ASATU) has vow to join in the initiative which is aimed at promoting healthy living across the state’s 179 communities.

According to Comrade Ken Okoli, one of the crucial role of young people and mothers in a community is health mobilization. He noted that the newly introduced handbook would serve as a strategic resource for campaigns focusing on wellness, hygiene, physical fitness, and civic responsibility.

He also said that the movement is not just about health, it’s a campaign for good governance. As a youth the reason for the collaboration with ASATU Women is to aligns with the vision of Dr Nonye Soludo, wife of the governor, who champions the Healthy Living initiative.

Delivering the keynote address, Mrs Ify Obinabo, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, spoke on the theme: “Raising Healthy Living Advocates in the 179 Communities in Anambra State.”

She praised the initiative as a timely and strategic intervention to sustain the gains of the Soludo administration, especially in policies targeting women and children, including free education, free antenatal care, and free delivery services.

Other speakers at the seminar included: Dr Uju Okoye, Head of Reproductive Health, Anambra State Ministry of Health, A representative of Igwe Bennett Emeka (Okebo II of Umueri), Chinweogo Uba, chief Whip of the Njikoka Congress of Councillors, APGA women Leader, Hon Mrs Esther Onyekesi, Lady Joy Otti, Acting Leader of the ASATU Women Wing, Head of Tranning ITF Nnenna Nwadike and Obianuju Orjiekwe
