The government of Anambra State has warn against fake and unverified news before broadcasting or publishing to the general public. The Commissioner of information Dr. Law Mefor stated this in a press release to the media recently.

The Commissioner warns against the malicious statement that Anambra State government appointees are collecting bribe before allocating contract. He stress that every contract passed through due process.

Citing Nnewi North IGR issue, He said Mr. Austine Jideofor, is the Supervisor on Special Duties and Head of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of Nnewi North Local Government Area. And as one in that position, it is normal for him to supervise what is happening around his portfolio.
He said that the contractor only paid 100 million naira for the contract, which is the original amount that was supposed to be paid to prove that the contractor has the capacity to deliver the job. The allege 40 million naira was a refund to the previous contractor that was not able to meet up with the capacity for such contract.

Reacting to the commissioner speech, the Mayor of the Local Government Area said that contract are given to companies and contractor that have the capacity to deliver. The reason why the Solution Government is delivering the devidend of democracy to Ndi Anambra is because every contractor must deliver within time allocated to him and Nnewi North Local can not do otherwise.
Hon Anazodo said , only contractor with capacity can get contract in Nnewi North.

The commissioner finally warned against using fake news to threatened the peace of Anambra market people.

The government warns that it will no longer tolerate this blatant attempt to undermine the peace and secustate by circulating information that are not verified.

This is viewed as nothing short of propaganda from the pit of hell, orchestrated by individuals seeking to promote insecurity in Anambra State for reasons best known to them.

So, let it be known that perpetrators of fake news will henceforth be arrested and visited with the full wrath of the law. Law Mefor added
