The stakeholders of Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State has the declared that Umudim Community shall complete their four (4) years tenure in the fourth coming Anambra State Local government Election comes August 17TH 2026.


The stakeholders which comprises of Nzukora Nnewi leadership, Board of Trustees Nzukora Nnewi, Igwe of Nnewi, Obi of Uruagu, Obi of Umudim, Obi of Nnewichi, and Presidents-General of the four Communities stated this at the meeting held at the Igwe Palace, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. K.O.N. Orizu III, CON recently.
In a communique signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Trustees of Nzukora Nnewi, Sir Denis Ofordeme and Engr. Sir Chidi Anuligo respectively which was made available to the press stated that, It will be unfair and unjust for Umudim to serve two (2) years while the last elected local government Chairman served for four (4) years.
The stakeholders maintained that no community shall be short changed, marginalized or treated unfairly.
According to them, Umudim community shall complete their four (4) years tenure. And that Nnewichi community shall be the next in turn after Umudim has completed their four years on the chairmanship of Nnewi North Local Government. It also stated that Nnewichi shall assume the position also for a four (4) year term upon completion of Umudim tenure.
The stakeholder declared that the peace and unity of Nnewi is sacrosanct and the rotational agreement that has fueled this harmony must be upheld and respected for continued peace and progress of Nnewi North.
