It is an undeniable fact, the peace, love and harmony now prevailing in all markets in Anambra state can be traced to Hon Chief Humphrey, the President General of Anambra state Market Amalgamated traders Association ( ASMATA) a.k.a AJILIJA ONWA ORA NINE, SOLUTION PG, OGWU NDI AHIA.

If there is anything which the people and government of Anambra desire the most should be peace and orderliness in the markets considering the status of the state as the huts of business in Nigeria.

It is on good authority that Hon Chief Humphrey Anuna came into office as PG of ASMATA exactly three years ago with the clear vision to enrich the traders in stalled market and beyond. Inline the vision of the the Solution Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo to make Anambra State a destination Hub instead of a departure lounge .

He has recorded many land mark achievements with his administration changing the narratives and bringing honour and dignity to Anambra state market traders by designing all meeting, seminars and symposium to the ASMATA secretariat unlike the previous regimes when there was no designated place. Given them a look by organizing a perfect recognition of traders in an event or occasion with their perfect uniform.

ONWA as he is fondly called has helped in increasing Anambra states internally Generated Revenue ( IGR), improved security with his establishment of Make Way Taskforce market peace and Reconciliation committee, donation of millions of Naira to victims of misfortune and fire disaster and forging stronger relationship by partnering with various federal agencies like standard organ of Nigeria and NAFDAC.

Hon Humphrey Anuna is known to have brought civility to the market police by initiating and training an unarmed group in the markets by name “MAKE WAY” with each market leader short listing five able bodied personalities from each market in Anambra state and using same for the maintenance of law and order in all market in Anambra state

He also organized a Free Medical Checkup and treated in all Markets of the 21 local Government area in Anambra with over 35000 traders benefiting from the free medical outreach.
As the president General of ASMATA Hon Chief Humphrey Anuna created many committees like committee on recovery of all assets of the great organ using the existing constitution of ASMATA, committees on fake and Adultered products that liaises with SON and NAFDAC to checkmate fake and counterfeit products and rid them out of the Anambra state markets.

To enhance the ideology of the Solution Government of launching a Project of Anambra Rebirth through 1youth 2skills and other programme, Chief have written two books, which he titled: Igbo Apprenticeship System and the making of an Igbo Entrepreneur and Becoming Rich or Poor a personal decision. These book when read are to bring back the Youth of Anambra State to the origin of what they are know for ,’Genuine Business’
Markets in Anambra are not celebrating Hon Humphrey Anuna for nothing, for he is the person who brought substance to apprenticeship among traders through his novel “Igba boi” scheme which attracted the attention of the executive Governor of Anambra state who in his wisdom modernized the idea by bringing an expert strategy of training the one youth two skills initiative. Markets in Anambra state benefited by sending young and intelligent youths which first batch of 5,000 youths and second batch of 8,300 youths went home with #500,000 each as start up grants thanks to the PG and Anambra State Government.

It is to his credits that ASMATA have won all pending court cases that tended to consume the ASMATA and ownership of the ASMATA secretariat and having one great organization to enjoy the lawful ownership of the Said secretariat without any encumbrance whatsoever.

Celebrating Chief Humphrey Anuna in his capacity as President General of ASMATA is indeed a noble course for he is a leader with a difference.

The forgotten market leader in Anambra state have had course to settle in their lifestime for dedicating their resources and putting in their best in the development of market trading in Anambra state. This is because Chief Humphrey Anuna led administration has established a stakeholders forum of ASMATA. It comprises of five persons and above from each market in Anambra depending on the size of market.

To Chief Humphrey Anuna, the only tangible rewards for any good work is another opportunity to serve hence ASMATA returned the markets to the stakeholders, for according to Chief Humphrey Anuna, it’s another way of harnessing their experience for proper leadership and development, they are referred to as critical stakeholders. Chief Humphrey Anuna is a forward looking leader who believes that tomorrow holds greater prospect hence is initiating and acquiring a large expertise of land at Ojoto in Idemili south local government for the proposal of Traders industrial and Agricultural city where all markets and leaders shall own at least five plots of lands for farming industry to fight hunger and food shortages not only in Anambra but in Nigeria at large.

He is also acquiring about 600 plots of land at umuohim community near the Ebube Muonso university known as ASMATA ESTATE whereby over 200 plots of land has been paid for and on the process of development.

As at today Chief Anuna is the Vice President General of South East Market Amalgamated Traders Association (SEMATA). In this three years in office Anambra traders/Mkts should wait as more packages is yet to download.
